I have discussed this matter with irrte and have

also had some conversation with regard to it with Sir C. P. Chater.

In the first place, I have ascertained that the respective areas in which the Wharf and Godown Company on the one hand and the Land Reclamation Company on the other hand are interested must be kept separate and distinct from each other. I will therefore so deal with them in what follows. In both cases, the terms stated are those which will be recommended to the Directors of the respective Companies for acceptance, they are not to be treated as definitely settled at the present stage. I may add that the Star Ferry Pier on the Kowloon side is the property of the Wharf and Godown Company and is therefore included in the negotiations relating to their property.
